The Carrier of Tradition and Ancestors' Past: Bison Sculpture

The Sacred Bison Sculpture is a piece made close to my heart. I was mourning the loss of my brother and was driven to create this sculpture. It was an incredibly healing experience and I am excited to share this healing energy within this piece to a special recipient.  Keep him close to commemorate those that came before you, and those you lost along the way.

Sculpture: Sculpted from natural clay. Hand painted with acrylic, and sealed with a matte sealer. The crystals are dripping with gold leaf.

Stones: Labradorite is a metaphysical and intuitive stone. It is associated with the third eye chakra, and has psychic attributes.

The Load that is Carried: Genuine, vintage 1920s raccoon fur (Please Note: never, ever do I condone modern day furriers and would never use this in my sculptures, however, this raccoon fur is vintage from the 1920s. It came from the popular but short lived raccoon fur coats of the Roaring Twenties. It was given to me by a dear friend who found this at an antique store and wore it in the 1960's. Since she no longer wears the coat, she had the coat restored and cut and made into a teddy bear to still appreciate the history behind the coat. I now have the leftover scraps to incorporate into my art).  Elk antler, vintage bone beads, pom poms, brass skull beads- all from Woman Shops World. Also included: felted scrolls, braided yarn, and a crocheted blanket with sheep's wool (from the sheep of the same woman that gave me the raccoon fur), and another special addition: a grey catbird feather and hairy woodpecker feather from the same birds I feed in my backyard. No worries, they were shed naturally and found around my birdfeeders. I had them sanitized and adorned on the bison's load.

Measurements: 10" long, 3" high, and 3.25" wide

This sculpture took hours to craft. It was made with love and contentment. It will never be replicated, it is a one of a kind, limited edition.

Comes lovingly packaged.
